Fergus joined Rennie Cox in 2007 after completing his honours dissertation on the Hague Convention and the international abduction of children.
Fergus practices in the areas of commercial litigation, contract, health, intellectual property and relationship property. He advises clients on a wide range of:
- Contract law and sponsorship agreements;
- Personal property, domestic and international commercial disputes and general debt recovery;
- Health and ACC matters;
- Transportation, insurance and sale of goods issues;
- Intellectual property including trade and design marking;
- Family law matters, including relationship property claims and agreements, estate litigation, and disputes relating to the guardianship and care of children;
- Personal undertakings. In particular - personal guarantees;
- Immigration matters.
Prior to commencing practice as a lawyer, Fergus worked in senior roles in
local, regional, national and regulatory bodies where he gained extensive experience
of risk management, negotiation and dispute resolution, and resource management.
